Well before the last update, i could play fine, in any map, with settings maxed out with 4aa on etc etc, and still get around 40-80fps in PvP (lots of people)

Since the last update, every 10 minutes or so (just an average) i get insane lag, its not my internet connection, as i have tried Ventrilo at the same time, and my ping on the server stays at a low 19 latency.

The lag to others, looks like im frozen still, when on my screen i am running after people trying to cast spells/attack etc.
Other times even on my screen i cannot move, the game seems to freeze all together, Then it plays fine for 5-15 minutes, then the same happens again etc.

Before people start saying 'It must be your computer'

Answer = There isnt any reason for it to be, nothing has been installed recently, and this only happened since the April 6th update

Before people start saying 'It must be your internet'

Answer = I can play Counter Strike Source, or any other online game, fine without lag, with a low latency, also can talk using voice communication software such as Ventrilo, with no lag or delays.

There is one person in the guild im in, who was suffering the same problems exactly when i was screaming on vent 'Im Froze!' This makes me beleve its something to do with Guildwars.

I get no lag what-so-ever in PvE.. So go figure

2Gig Kingston Hyper-X Memory
Nvidia 7800Gs

im getting the exact same problem, but in PvE areas, all of a sudden i get crazy lag and it looks like im moonwalking, ive tried my ISP and they say everythings fine with the connection, i can also play BF2, CS:S and DoD:S with no lag, and have no problems with ventrilo or TS, it cant be coinsidence that it happened after the update

Tried different nVidia versions?

Also, out of a little random test, right-click your GW.exe file, go on Properties, and change the target from something like:

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe"
to:
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -nosound

And try it then.

Infact, before you do the above, download the new DirectX Version April from www.microsoft.com that came out 2 days ago.

Just to update this matter:

1: The lag is the same that happens when you quickly minimise the game, then reload it, players warp all over for a few seconds, sometimes it is more severe and everything comes to a standstill like i have disconnected, then everything becomes normal again.

2. It happens only in International Districts, and in PvP when playing only American teams.. this makes me think that when playing American teams, players are loaded onto a US server of the PvP map.

3: Trace routes suggest my connection with Anet is fine

4: My IP says my connection is fine.

5: When i experience this lag/freeze, my 'Bytes/Sec' drops to 0, then bounces up to the 800's when the lag is gone..

Just wondering is anyone else having the same problems with the same setup/problems as i am having?

I've been having similar problems ever since the april update aswell. Unplayable (atleast calling/interrupting/spikehealing is impossible) lag when facing koreans/americans in PvP. Last week I was the only one in our guild complaining about this, this week atleast one has mentioned having lagbursts. Must be connected to the lags european guilds were experiencing during the playoffs.

I've tested countless different setups (3 different, inc latest directxs, 4 different catalysts) and since it happens only during pvp and with koreans/americans. With me experiencing no problems with my internet connection in general, the only logical conclusion must be that there are some problems with the way some connections are handled by the arenanet servers.

I have it occasionally when I suddenly encounter aggros. They pick targets and my computer suddenly begins to stagger. Sometimes it finally returns to normal after I find myself in the resurection shrine.

I've just starting having the problem lately as well, I lag horribly in HA, but no where else, and at random times. Its more like a studdering for me, however, not moonwalking.

Same, just recently I freeze for 10 seconds when i use a skill then it carries on playing but in that time I'm either dead of missed an important timing of a skill.

It really annoying, and impossible to be a monk!!!

Anyone know what can do to solve it?

I have Broadband 1mb which is shared on 2 pc's via router. I think I get more lag when my brother uses the other pc for messanger etc...

If I increased the broadband to 2mb would it eliminate that lag when he uses his pc as its double the speed?

Your help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Few questions I need help with please?

1) Anyone else experiencing more extreme lag lately? is this to do with downloading factions content?

2) I mainly get lag in my third match whether heroes ascent or team arena's. Anyone know a reason for this?

3) If I increase broadband speed will it help reduce lag?

Please help coz I feel like crying when my player stalls for 5-10 secs after i used a skill - by the time im back im either dead or on my way there.

I have emailed anet support numerous times, they are recieving 'a worrying amount of similar complaints' and are passing on my details onto 'the developer'

So il see what i hear back :S

Same problem here. Lag seems to have increased massively with one of the updates - once in a while (about once or twice every hour or so) I get rubber-banding and skill-not-responding problems. It isn't so bad per se in town, but when out on a mission, its quite often fatal. PvP has become rather unplayable as well, since fighting any other non-American team seems to result in quite a considerable delay.

Can't exactly remember when it started, but it seemed to coincide with the FPE though.

Ive had been getting a lot of lag in pvp aswel, especially around the zaishen area.
i used this line from EternalTempest's GW Command line post.

We have been experiencing this too, and like Veneficus, only when playing Americans (not sure about Koreans) and we are mostly Euro.
